Nobody notices.

A photo, a date of birth, an IBAN. Today a forgery is a handful of edited pixels or a single changed cell.

03 · Looks real

To the eye, it looks real.
To a hash, just "different".

Comparing hashes answers one question: did it change? Not what, who, when or where - and not which version to trust.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about
ROOTKey

What is ROOTKey?

ROOTKey is a European data-integrity platform: it seals every version of files, tables and databases with a SHA-256 fingerprint recorded in an independent registry, shows what changed (who, when and where) and restores the last valid version. It runs as SaaS hosted in the EU, in a private cloud or on-premise.

How is ROOTKey different from a backup?

A backup restores systems; ROOTKey proves whether the restored data can be trusted. It restores the last version proven valid, down to one file or one row, and only what was altered returns to the sealed original, cryptographically verified. The two are complementary, not competing.

Does ROOTKey replace my SIEM or security tools?

No, ROOTKey complements them. Your SIEM detects events; ROOTKey answers which data can still be trusted after an alert. Events are available to your SIEM through the REST API and webhooks, and ROOTKey works on top of the tools you already use, without replacing them.

Where does ROOTKey run and where is my data?

ROOTKey runs as SaaS hosted in the EU on every plan, and in a private cloud or on-premise on the Enterprise tiers. On the SaaS platform your data is hosted in the EU, in line with GDPR; with a private cloud or on-premise deployment, it stays wherever you decide.

How much does ROOTKey cost?

The Starter plan is free, with no credit card and no commitment. Pro costs €199 per month, Business €449 per month and Advanced €899 per month (prices in EUR, excl. VAT). For Enterprise, contact us for a tailored quote. Compare every plan on the pricing page.

Which regulations does ROOTKey help with?

ROOTKey helps with NIS2, DORA and GDPR: it provides immutable audit logs, automatic data-integrity verification and evidence-ready reports that address their requirements. The evidence covers NIS2 (Art. 21, 23), DORA (Art. 9, 17) and GDPR (Art. 32).
